Love your blog! Would be stoked to win!

OK, kind gesture–I have this awesome aunt who is an awesome cook so she published her own awesome cookbook, which she gifted me with when I got married and moved two states away. These are recipes that I grew up on, so I use it all the time! Well, a few weeks back I up and lost it! I commented about it on Facebook and a friend who lives {another} two states away sent me hers in the mail! It was so sweet, I cried! It meant so much to me!!

I am thankful for being able to “retire” last month so I can spend this precious time with my kids and for my husband who works very hard so I can have this luxury!

As my new husband and I were approaching our wedding this year, our plans were drastically changed. So many friends did unexpected things for us which helped us get on our feet. God has been gracious to provide important things through the generousity of other people and it has taught me to trust Him in all circumstances. I am so thankful for that, and I hope to help others in the future like I have been helped.

I am thankful for good deeds. The small, unselfish things people do for one another. Hold the door for someone, let someone get in line before you, offer your help to someone in need. It’s a great way to make someone smile.

I am so grateful for all of God’s blessings in my life life, family and marriage. A few years back, I learned that Thanksgiving is not just for the 3rd Thursday of November, but for everyday. I nearly lost my son five years ago from a ruptured appendix in which he became Septic. I remember that after two weeks of not moving from his hospital bedside the Dr. came in looked down towards the ground and just shook his head and told me he was a very sick boy and that they didn’t know what else to do. Right then, I gave the situation to God, knowing that I should not give up on God as he had not given up on us. Within 24 hours my son’s white cell count dramatically dropped. I thank God every single day that I get to look into my son’s Blue eyes and have them look back at me.
