This is my very first fondant and sugar paste cake. I’ll resist the urge to tell you everything that’s wrong with it. I messed up so much! But in the end, I let Heather and Brandon help me finish it by placing on the sugar paste flowers, berries, and leaves and they really had good ideas about how to cover up my mistakes. I hope it still looks this nice for her party tomorrow :). There are so many little fingers in this house that can’t wait for a taste.
Beautiful!! You did an amazing job! Happy Birthday, Heather!!!
I think it looks great, especially for a first try! Fondant is tricky stuff š It sounds like it turned into a fun family project, too. Good job, all. And happy birthday to Heather!
What a beautiful cake and one lucky little girl!!!
Wow! My five year old granddaughter would LOVE this! Beautiful job.
It looks wonderful! I’m sure everyone will really enjoy eating it too!
P.S. thanks for posting the pictures – I was hoping we would get to see the finished cake!
We have 3 grown daughters and 2 granddaughters ages 1 and 3 who would so love this cake. I remember Strawberry Shortcake being so popular when my girls were young. My husband is a farmer and happened to walk by when I first saw this cake and thought it was so beautiful and wanted to know who made it and I told him my friend Angela. ( He knows who you are as much as I talk about you!!!)
Thank you for all your sweet comments! The party went well even though we had a power outage and no lights, refrigeration, or air conditioning for the big day. When I get my camera charged back up, I’ll post some pictures.
