I want to check in and let you know that lack of posting doesn’t mean lack of activity :). I finished my ebook last weekend and the file size is 1.5 Gig! I have a lot of embedded videos in there and I’m working on shrinking everything so it can be useable. I’m not very techy, so this involves a lot of research and study and trial and error. But I’m hoping to have it all finished soon.
I’ve started a brand new newsletter program also and could only mail out to half the group this week while the new host is getting used to our HUGE list. Thanks, friends, for all your support–and making it huge. Those of you who get the new newsletter, I’d love your feedback on the content and what you’d like to see there. I’m still working out the bugs on the template, it should get better and better every week.
AWesome!!! What program are you using for your e-book?

SO excited for the new e-book and I love the new newsletter! My favorite section is probably the “In My Home This Week”. Just a quick question, do you meal plan on the weekends? I know on your Grocery Shrink e-book you left the calendar blank on Sundays (and the newsletter didn’t mention Saturday or Sunday meals). Maybe you just don’t eat 2 days a week and that’s how you save money 🙂 (kidding).
Haley, You are so funny about not eating two days a week :). No, just keeping it real on that menu plan. Sometimes I just can’t THINK. We often have a day of clean out leftovers. This weekend we will be out of town for Darren’s preaching assignment and will be eating with church families–so I didn’t plan anything for those days. Our typical Sunday meal is roast chicken with carrots and potatoes in the crock pot or pot roast with carrots and potatoes in the crock pot. The kids never tire of it, the leftovers are awesome in stew or enchiladas the next day and it’s easy. I often leave it blank hoping some other inspiration will hit me–but you can expect roast on Sunday, lol.
I plan for the entire month towards the end of the previous month. But thought it might be less overwhelming just to post one week at a time. Thanks for your feedback. It really helps!
Loved the new newsletter! I have a question though. I put a whole chicken in the crockpot yesterday and my broth was very greasy, is there anyway to prevent this from happening?
Thanks, Rebecca! Nope, that’s just from the fat under the skin melting in the heat. When you remove the meat, strain the broth and chill it. The fat will harden on the top and you can take it off for fat free broth.
LOVE the new newsletter. Very easy to read. My favorite part is the “in my home this week” section. very inspiring to keep me and my family on the right track.
Since reading your ebook my husband has noticed how organized i have become. I never used to make out a meal plan but do so at the end of every month and my husband likes being able to look forward to certain meals and there’s never the question of “what’s for dinner.”
We have also been able to reduce our grocery budget (while eating better!) and pay off our debt faster. I didn’t realize how much we were eating out because I didn’t have a plan.
Thanks so much. I look forward to reading the new ebook.
