Fresh fruits are chock full of nutrients that can absorb through the skin! I’ve used fresh fruit masks off and on since my teens and am always amazed at how well they work. To use, cut a small piece of fruit and rub it on clean skin. Let it dry completely then wash with warm water and a cloth. Follow with a good moisturizer (which may just be a few drops of almond or olive oil.) Remember if you are allergic to eating a food, you shouldn’t rub it on your skin either.
Strawberries: Great for acne prone skin.
Watermelon: Nourishes older skin and helps reduce signs of aging
Avocado: Perfect for dry skin–lovely in winter too
Yogurt: Helps even skin tone–perfect for soothing sunburns too. Full fat yogurt is moisturizing
Can’t wait to try avocado on my face! LOL!
Oh, how simple and yet so effective 🙂 🙂 Thanks for the tips. Is there any reason why you recommend almond or olive oil over coconut oil? I’ll have to try that. I’ve always used coconut oil…but if the other two are better for your skin, maybe I’ll switch 🙂 🙂 🙂 Love and hugs from Oreogn, Heather 🙂
Heather, Coconut oil is great. It may clog skin in some and cause acne. I can use it fine without that happening and I have severly acne prone skin. Almond oil is most nourishing and most readily used by the skin, but they are all good.
Do strawberries help clear up acne? Or do they not cause anymore acne? 🙂
I use the ‘guts’ from the inside of butternut and other squashes for a hand and face treatment. I just squish it around in my hands and take a bowl of it into the shower and scub it on. It makes my hands refreshed and my skin glows a little from it. The peels work good too but the edges can be sharp so you need to be careful.
